As we approach the Fourth of July, Ann and I would like to wish you a happy, safe holiday weekend.  There are a number of great events happening around the district, from fireworks to festivals to parades.

I was very pleased today to see that the Philadelphia Inquirer joined every other major editorial board, and the vast majority of New Jersey voters from both parties, in supporting a sustainable, responsible source of funding for open space. Leadership must choose to act now to continue this successful program!

I had a great time meeting with fourth grade students from Salem Drive School today. They asked great questions, and even sang some songs about New Jersey!

Three years ago tragedy struck a West Orange family when a motorist failed to comply with basic traffic safety guidelines. I am proud to see Nikhil's Law start to get the recognition it deserves in our legislative body. My thoughts and prayers still go out to the wonderful Badlani family today.

I applaud the Obama administration for taking a firm leadership stance on one of the most serious issues of our time.  While each of us has the power to make a difference individually, the only way we’re going to have a significant impact on climate change is collectively - as a state, as a nation and as one global community.

I had the great pleasure of speaking at the New Jersey Land Preservation Rally at Rutgers University.  Preserving what is left of New Jersey's open space is critical to securing the future of our state.

Recently, I sat down with the Comcast Newsmakers program to discuss my bill to create a permanent series of gun buybacks here in New Jersey.

I am looking forward to getting this important proposal passed, so we can work on reducing gun violence in our state.
